Post-infantile giant cell hepatitis or Adult giant cell hepatitis (AGCH) is a variety of hepatitis characterized by a diffuse multinucleated giant cell transformation of hepatocytes (GTH) that generally combines with histological pictures of a non otherwise specified chronic hepatitis , i.e. inflammation, necrosis and fibrosis ( 2, 4, 6, 7 ). The disease may have either an acute and a chronic clinical presentation. Spontaneous recovery occurs in almost 25% of patients and mortality varies according to etiology. It is assumed that at least a third of patient die following acute disease or from complication of chronicity. In the remainder of cases theres an evolution toward cirrhosis and progressive liver failure ( 1 ). We report a case of ACGH occurring in a young adult woman and describe some immunohistochemical properties of giant cells.
