PRESENTACIÓN
Estimados amigos:
¡Ya ha comenzado el 9º Congreso Virtual Hispanoamericano de Anatomía
Patológica y 2º Congreso de Preparaciones Virtuales en Internet! En:
http://www.conganat.org/9congreso/

Dear colleagues:
The 9th Virtual Hispano-American Congress of Pathology and 2nd Internet
Virtual Slides Congress (2 VSC) has just started! At:
http://www.conganat.org/9congreso/
Active phase of the Congress will be from May 1st to June 30th, 2007.
In this new edition, 350 papers will be presented, including 23 conferences and
12 technical papers.
Please visit also The Internet Virtual Slide Congress of Pathology. We
will be including new cases periodically. Diagnostic exercise has been updated
including the possibility to request additional stains or immunohistochemistry
techniques.
In this edition, over 1500 attendees are registered. We would like you to enjoy
the congress web pages and review the interesting scientific work of our
colleagues from 25 different countries, from Portugal to Japan. Your
participation is the essential part in this Internet congress, and it will allow
us to share and compare experiences, and to deep in specific issues that authors
may have not included in their presentations.
Organising Committee would like to thank all authors for their effort in the
realization and design of their scientific papers. We would like to make a
special mention to the excellent work of the Scientific Committee, presided by
Dr. Aurelio Ariza, next president of the Spanish Society of Pathology (SEAP),
assisted by Dr. Walter M. Martínez Rodríguez, had of the department of Pathology
at the Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico León Cuervo Rubio in Pinar del Río (Cuba).
They have made easier the hard work performed by our colleague Dr. Francisco
Martín Dávila, to synthesize and communicated the decisions of the Scientific
Committee to the authors.
A 90% of papers have been accepted. Some excellent papers, included amongst the
non-accepted papers could not be included because they were not dealing with or
focused in our specialty, Pathology.
We must express our gratitude to the Spanish Society of Pathology (SEAP) and its
president, Sergio Serrano, also our Congress president, for their support in the
organization of the 9th Virtual Hispano-American Congress of Pathology, the main
activity for many years of the Applied Informatics Club of the SEAP, coordinated
by Dr. José Santos Salas Valién.
The Spanish Society of Health Informatics has actively collaborated in the
diffusion of the event.
Our special thanks to the Information Technology Department of the University of
Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), for letting us use their servers and programming
facilities to design this virtual environment. Also, many thanks to the ISA
Research Group of the Industrial Engineering Superior School of the UCLM for
their excellent research group in biomedical imaging, giving us the opportunity
to test a new virtual slide viewer.
Finally, we would like to thank the Information technology Area of the Health
Services of Castilla-La Mancha (SESCAM) and the Hospital General de Ciudad Real.
They make all the technological and clerical facilities available to all
pathologists, including their pioneer pathology virtual slide solutions, a
essential tool for this Congress.
We wish you will enjoy this new edition and please feel free to contact us if
you have any doubt or suggestion to make us.
